About Us

Welcome to Lafayette Frenchies. We hope you enjoy your visit with us and that you take some time to get to know the special dogs that we share in our lives. A bit about us, we are Blake Mayo and Greg Hays. We have a small show home located in Lumber Bridge North Carolina, just outside of Fayetteville NC. We are fortunate enough to have some really nice French Bulldogs with the most impressive pedigrees. Our goal is to produce quality French Bulldogs within the breed standard, and with the best personalities, whether they are to be a companion or show dog.

We have been showing French Bulldogs since 2000. We have a good time and make new friends everytime we enter the show ring. We are always learning something more about the breed and try to show good sportsmanship. We are active members in good standing with the Southeastern French Bulldog Club.

We have puppies available on occasion. When we do have puppies, all pet or companion puppies go with Limited Registration and Spay Neuter Contracts. Show puppies go to approved homes only. Please contact us for availability or any other questions.

The French Bulldog was initially developed in England as a miniature version of the English Bulldog. During the 1860s, French dog breeders imported some of these small Bulldogs from Great Britain and bred them with French Terriers. These imports were greatly admired in France and this led to the name French Bulldog. This breed belongs to the Mastiff group and tends to have a very comical personality, which can include excessive funny behavior.

Note: All titles are AKC (American Kennel Club), the only true, original dog registration and show organization in the U.S. Other so-called " registries" such as the CKC (Continental Kennel Club), SKC (States Kennel Club), and APR (American Puppy Registry) were formed by people kicked out of the AKC for rules violations. They formed these "clubs" so that they could say their puppies were "registered" and the uneducated public would think they were buying a purebred puppy. Never buy a puppy from someone who uses these registries as there is no guarantee that the puppy will be purebred. These organizations will register literally anything without proof of lineage. They even encourage the registration of mixed breeds which they call "designer breeds". These "designer breeds" are nothing more than mutts since they do not breed true, yet people are paying ridiculous prices for them. Don't get sucked in by the hype on these web sites and even on TV. A mutt is a mutt and to think otherwise is to seriously delude yourself.
